Angel Sanctuary is a manga and anime series. A complex story of love, despair, and evil, it is set in the pre-apocalypse. Long ago, Alexeil an Organic Angel, leads the demons to challenge the against God and heaven while the angels of heaven are lead by her twin brother, Raziel. Alexeil was defeated but with her remaining power she seals her brother to remain on earth as a helpless once being of God. Heaven gets it's revenge by making Alexial be reincarnated over and over, suffering tragic and violent painful deaths. The story starts with Setsuna Modou, a highschool boy who gets in trouble and is Alexeil's reincarnation. Inside his twisted mind he has a burning love for his little sister Sarah, who loves in in return. Though their love may be 'true' it is a hopeless dream to live happily ever after. Demons coming into the world in new bodies of his friends and new evil arising, it is his duty to awaken Alexial and once again lead the rebellion. Setsuna though, is ignorant to the idea and just wants to run away. Though when Raziel awakens to his more powerful form, he blames Sarah for taking his dear sister from him so he is set out to kill her. Now Setsuna feels it is his goal to protect those he loves and re-awaken Alexial.
